Loughton will see launch of new branch of women’s business networking group

The entrepreneurs and female executives of the #1 leading business community Athena Network located in Singapore and the UK, is planning to extend its reach and its launch in Loughton, Essex site, on February 27th. The group allows women to converge with similar business professionals, and its aim is to help women make connections with similar minded business men and women, and grow their personal businesses in a supportive and professional atmosphere.

“Our group will give businesswomen in Loughton a chance to find new customers without cold-calling or high-pressure selling”, says Stella Fehmi, Regional Director and local franchisee owner. “We inspire and support women towards success, and help to find business opportunities for each other with supportive business training and strategic relationship-building.”

Contrary to the usual networking model which sees women rising early or working late for meetings, the Athena Meetings take place once a month from 12 to 2pm over lunch. This allows women to meet their family commitments and business responsibilities without interrupting their demanding schedules. “We recognise that women have responsibilities as care providers and mothers, as well as businesswomen,” said Fehmi.

Women who are interested in joining this new group are encouraged to get in touch early, as places are limited to one representative per industry. “We choose our members carefully and meticulously so you and your business will have access to quality people, products and services,” Fehmi added. “Make this your year, you’ll meet people who match your interests and needs and you will help create valuable relationships and friendships among the people in your network. The rewards are tremendous.”

The new Loughton Athena group will meet in local family-run restaurant The Olive Tree. The official pre-launch is an informal gathering where members and visitors can meet before deciding whether to join the network. The pre-launch will take place at The Olive Tree on the 13th of February from 10- 1pm. All visitors are welcomed, and no booking is required for this event.

Manos Filaitis, director of the Olive Tree Restaurant, is looking forward to hosting the Athena Network and its lunchtime meetings for professional business women. “The Olive tree is a family run restaurant serving Greek Mediterranean cuisine where we pride ourselves in being passionate about good food, good hospitality and attention to detail. We wish Athena every success and look forward to building a strong relationship with them and their members.” Filaitis said.

The Athena Network has grown from strength to strength in the last seven years as the preferred networking event for women in business. It is widely attended nationally, and internationally as well with the launch of its Singapore groups last September in “Part of the reason for success is the co-operative attitude between members,” explains Jacqueline Rogers, Founder of The Athena Network, “The meetings are enjoyable and informative and provide the foundation for strong business partnerships as well as friendship.”
